{ our mission }The mission of Nethera Studios is to act as a viable gateway to mainstream media for aspiring and established Video Game developers; assisting them in bringing their ideals and visions to the forefront of the Global Gaming Economy. We accomplish this by taking the concepts presented by each Game Developer and building them into products ready for the mainstream Public Market.{ what we do }
Currently Nethera Studios is looking to work in tandem with Video Game Developers in China to bring their vision of the future of video games to the US market and eventually the World market. We will do this by working with the concepts brought forth by Chinese Game Developers and developing them for the U.S. player base. We will also be working with U.S. Video Game publishers to then market these games for the U.S. Public. Furthermore, we are currently in development of finishing scripts for an upcoming film project that will be produced under one of our production offices here at Nethera Studios. { current situation in china }source: Pearl Research
China effectively has two console markets: the legitimate market and the gray and pirated market. Based on local sources, the gray and pirated market continues to grow as upwardly-mobile Chinese consumers purchase console hardware such as PSP, PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii from parallel importers. Pearl Research believes Chinese console gamers tend to be prolific gamers, often owning more titles than their Western counterparts due to the low cost of pirated software. High software prices limit the amount of games that a Western consumer could own, but that is not an issue in China where pirated games sell for $1. The second market, the legitimate market, continues to be a difficult market. While legitimate hardware sales are modest, legitimate software sales are extremely low, with top console titles rarely selling more than 1,000 units at best. This small market for legitimate console games discourages third-party publishers from expanding or extensively promoting their products in China. This creates a vicious cycle, where low sales results in low first- and third-party support, which in turn reinforces these low sales numbers. Thus, Pearl Research believes consumers will continue to buy console hardware, but until legitimate console software sales pick up, China will remain an unprofitable market for publishers. The boxed market (PC games) share a similar story regarding issues with copyrights. { why are we different }
